Stretching out beneath the summit of Mount Kenya, Laikipia has been a frontier in wildlife conservation with its vast conservancies. The region boasts of almost half of East Africa’s black rhinos and here you will be see heards of beisa oryx and Grevy’s zebra. With the conservancies, there is limited access to the number of visitiors which creates exclusivity.
The region stretches between Mount Kenya and the Northern arid areas. These high rangelands spread out between north-flowing streams and rivers, which flow throughout the year into the northern Kenya’s greatest river -Ewaso Nyiro.Laikipia region can be narrowed down to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Solio Ranch,Borana and Lewa Conservancies, Ilngwesi, Elkarama, Loisaba and Sosian Ranch.

Kicheche Laikipia
Kicheche Laikipia Camp is located in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy of Laikipia at the foothills of Mount Kenya. It is an intimate luxury tented safari camp with only 6 custom-designed tents with private verandahs overlooking a waterhole. The Camp is an extremely well-run camp offering guests an authentic bush experience. You will enjoy a cool evening after game drive around a bonfire sharing stories of your game drives and walks.
Borana Lodge
Borana is a luxury lodge located on the 35,000 acre Borana ranch in the Laikipia region of northern Kenya, not far from Mount Kenya region and bordering the famous Lewa conservancy. The Lodge features six thatched cottages, all tastefully furnished, with large bathrooms, fireplaces and verandas giving guests a home feeling. Two of the cottages have two bedrooms each and are ideal for families. The lodge features a lovely infinity pool, lounge, bar and dining room. The loge welcomes children of all ages and activities can be tailored for families.
Lewa Safari Camp
Lewa Safari Camp is among the camps that are open throughout the year. It is located in the 26,000 Lewa Conservnacy. The camp boast of 11 safari tents, 3 of which can take an extra bed to accommodate a child under 16. There are 2 family suites with 2 en-suite bedrooms and each capable of taking an extra bed to sleep up to 3 children and 2 adults. Clients will enjoy game drives,bush breakfasts, sundowners and guided walks in the conservancy. With prior bookings full day walks in Ngare Ndare forest, horse rides and visits to local Samburu villages. Clients can enjoy a swim in the camps swimming pool with spectacular views.
Lewa Wilderness
Lewa Wilderness is a luxury camp in Lewa Conservancy. It is open all year apart from the months of April, May and November.The lodge offers 9 guest cottages, 6 on the hillside and the other 3 in the gardens which offers luxuries accommodation. They have thatched roofs, large windows, 4 poster beds and include some of the family’s own furniture. Each of the hillside cottages has a bedroom with views of the valley,en-suite bathroom, sitting area with an open fire and a verandah.
The garden cottages are larger making them ideal for families, each having 2 en-suite bedrooms, living room with a bar and fireplace and close to the main house.
Sabuk Lodge
Located in Laikipia area near Loisaba conservancy, the lodge overlooks Ewaso Nyiro River with great views.It features 4 en-suite cottages, all with private decks, plus a family room, a family house, and Eagle Cottage which has 2 en-suite bedrooms, a private dining area and a plunge pool. All rooms are built of stone, wood and thatch and are open-sided with views over the plateau.
The rooms have bathrooms with rain showers and flush toilets. Guests are provided with safes in their cottages and torches. While at the lodge guests enjoy activities which include day and night game drives, guided nature walks, bird watching, visits to the local village, horse and camel riding and fishing. Bush meals and fly camping can be arranged with prior booking. Many activities are led by Samburu guides.Guests will enjoy communal dinning hosted by the owner and they can relax or enjoy a swim at infinity pool and sundeck.
Ol Jogi
This is an exclusive private safari house on Kenya’s Laikipia plateau located on 60,000 acre private wildlife conservancy. It can only be booked on exclusive use and can accommodate between four and 25 guests – ideal for families or groups of friends. Here guests can enjoy great wildlife which includes the Big Five as well as African wild dog and rare species such as Grevy’s zebra and reticulated giraffe. Activities include day and night game drives, walking safaris and riding safaris among other activities that can be arranged by the house. There is a secret tunnel that offers a unique and up-close wildlife viewing experience
Elewana Loisaba Tented Camp
Elewana Loisaba Tented Camp is open all year round. Located in the private Loisaba conservancy this luxurious camp features 6 tented rooms with 3 doubles and 3 twins that can be converted to doubles if required.
The camp sits on an escarpment giving it spectacular views from the rooms. The en-suite bathrooms feature rain shower with solar-heated water, flush toilet and double basins. Tents all have private verandas overlooking the escarpment. The double tents can be joined with a twin tent to form a family unit, one of which has a private plunge pool.
Loisaba StarBeds
This is a small intimate tented camp which has three ensuite Double Rooms and onne ensuite Family Room, with two double beds pushed out onto separate platforms. The room features a sitting area, wardrobe and safe, with a bathroom set slightly apart adjoined by a short undercover walkway.
All rooms can fit an extra single bed that can’t be rolled out. The camp features four-poster beds with wheels which are rolled out onto raised wooden platforms so that guests sleep under the endless African night sky giving guests a unique experience. The rooms have got open-to-air bathrooms well designed around the rocky features of the kopje with rain shower with solar heated water, basin and flush toilet which have beautiful views over the valley below.
Segera Retreat
Located in the heart of Laikipia Plateau, North of the Equator in Kenya, Segera is a unique destination with both arid and savannah landscapes in a private 50,000 acres conservancy. Here you will enjoy exclusivity and luxury. It is rich in wildlife with rarer species such as Wild Dog, Reticulated Giraffe and Grevy’s Zebra and other wildlife including the big five.
