Tsavo is Kenya’s largest park, Tsavo, divided into two: Tsavo West and Tsavo East separated by Nairobi –Mombasa highway. These two parks comprise about four percent of the country’s total area and is endowed with rivers, waterfalls, savannah, volcanic hills, a massive lava-rock plateau, and an wide diversity of wildlife. The parks also feature the Yatta Plateau, the world’s longest lava flow; Mudanda Rock; and the Lugard Falls, which spill into rapids and crocodile-filled pools.
Tsavo West has the famous Mzima Springs, a series of natural fresh water springs with large populations of hippos and crocodiles; Chaimu Crater, birdlife, Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary among other attractions. It is not easy to see Wildlife in Tsavo West because of the denser vegetation, but the beautiful scenery more than compensates for this.
Finch Hattons
Located at the heart of Tsavo West National Park, part of Kenya’s single largest game reserve, Finch Hattons is a luxury property which gives guest great service and comfort of a five star. The camp enjoys a natural freshwater spring, flowing through three crystal clear pools, with tents along the edge of the river. The springs are home to a resident pod of hippopotamus.
The camp can accommodate up to 38 people, in large safari tents with twin beds, en suite bathrooms, brass fittings, large mirrors, WC, hot and cold running water and showers.
